World
Wildlife Fund (WWF) was established in 1961, operates in more than 100
countries and raises some $500 million per year worldwide. WWF-Canada
was established as a national office in the WWF network in 1967.
WWF Mission Statement:
WWF's mission is to stop the degradation of the planet's natural
environment and to build a future in which humans live in
harmony with nature by:
- conserving the world's biological diversity;
- ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable; and
- promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption.
WWF focuses its conservation efforts by identifying solutions to the
challenges associated with endangered species, toxic pollution, climate
change, oceans and coasts, freshwater and forests. WWF concentrates on
long-term partnerships with governments, businesses and other NGOs,
local communities and Aboriginal peoples to overcome obstacles,
sometimes to instigate conservation, other times to magnify already
existing effort. This inclusive approach helps us to influence specific
policies through targeted legislation, market forces and voluntary
commitments.
GreenTones™ is a proud supporter of WWF and their global conservation efforts. Learn more about WWF at:
